Pack 627 has been serving the boys and community of Gurnee since 1993 -- 27 years strong! We are the largest Pack in the area with over 40 Scouts drawing mainly from the Woodland School system (grades K - 5). We began delivering our Lion Program for Kindergarten boys too since Fall of 2017, and we began welcoming girls to officially join our adventures in June 2018! We are chartered thanks to the Knights of Columbus Divine Mercy Council 11112 of St. Paul the Apostle Church in Gurnee, although our membership is diverse with Scouts and families of many faiths making up our roster. Our mission is to prepare young people to make ethical choices over their lifetimes by instilling in them the values of the Scout Oath and Law, while giving them a chance to have fun and learn about our world.
What makes our Pack so much fun is we love the outdoors--we stress proper stewardship of the outdoors through our activities and camp as much as possible. We also emphasize serving the needs of others, through service projects to our community. Some of our most recent efforts include a clean-up at Hunt Club Park, assisting with used book distribution through Bernie's Books, packing up food supplies at Feed My Starving Children, and donating food & toys to local resources. Scouting is a family affair, and involvement is key to our Pack's success. Parental participation is crucial and expected. The Pack is what we, the parents, make it. We invite you to join us in Pack 627 on our Scouting Adventures and help us make a difference!
